The Faculty of Philology and Social Communications
The Faculty of Philology and Social Communications has a rich history, having celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2016. The faculty is headed by Irina Y. Hlazkova, DSc in Education, Professor.
The faculty trains higher education seekers in the following specialties:
- Secondary Education (the Ukrainian Language and Literature). Specializations: The English Language. The German Language. The Russian Language. The Bulgarian language. World Literature.
- Secondary Education (Language and Literature (Russian)). Specializations: The English Language. The German Language. The Bulgarian language. World Literature.
- Secondary Education (Language and Literature (English)). Specialization: The German Language. The Bulgarian language.
- Journalism.
- Philology. Specialization: The Ukrainian Language and Literature. The Slavic Languages and Literature (including Translation) (Master’s course).
The faculty comprises six departments:
- The Department of the Ukrainian Language and Methods of Teaching Professional Disciplines (headed by Nelia Pavlyk, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor);
- The Department of Ukrainian Literature and Comparative Studies (headed by Olga Novyk, DSc in Philology, Professor);
- The Department of Foreign Literature and Theory of Literature (headed by Victoria Zarva, DSc in Philology, Professor);
- The Department of General Linguistics and Slavic Philology (head – Olena Kolinko, DSc in Philology, Professor);
- The Department of Foreign Languages and Teaching Methods (headed by Iryna Shymanovych, PhD in Education, Associate Professor);
- The Department of Social Communications (headed by Anastasiia Nosko, PhD in Social Communications, Associate Professor).
