The purpose of the Centre is to encourage the professional development and improvement of teaching excellence of the academic staff in accordance with the state policy in the field of higher education to support the quality of an educational process in higher education.

The tasks of the Centre are:

• promoting improvement in the previously acquired and/or acquisition of new competencies within the framework of teaching activity, taking into account the requirements of the relevant professional standard (or project);
• planning and conducting various types of professional development programmes for academic staff;
• providing additional educational services to other higher education institutions and individual academic staff members related to the Centre’s lines of activity.

The main activities of the Centre are:

• development, organisation and implementation of various types of professional development for the academic staff;
• information and advisory support for academic staff on the issues of professional development;
• cooperation with university structural units and services, as well as other organisations to promote the professional development of the academic staff.
