Biography

Vira Burnazova was born on 31 May 1968 in Kozelets, Chernihiv oblast.

1986-1990 – worked at Kozelets Children’s Music School as a piano teacher after graduating from L.M. Revutskyi music college of Chernihiv as per study programme ‘Piano’ (class of L.V. Yevtushenko).

1990 – entered P.D. Osypenko State Teachers’ Training Institute of Berdiansk as per program subject area ‘Pedagogy and Methods of Primary Education. Music’;

1995 – graduated from Berdiansk State Teachers’ Training Institute;

Vira Burnazova has worked her way up from a concertmaster to an Associate Professor at the Department of Music Education, Deputy Director of the Faculty of Psychological and Pedagogical Education and Fine Arts for Educational and Methodological Work.

2002-2006 – studied at the postgraduate school of Berdiansk Teachers’ Training Institute;

2010 – defended her PhD thesis Methodological Foundations for the Development of the Rendering Independence of Students of Musical and Pedagogical Departments in the Process of Instrumental Training (thesis adviser – D.H. Yunyk, Doctor of Pedagogy, Professor at Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts).

Vira Burnazova

• has been conducting successfully scientific research;
• is an author of about 40 scientific works;
• takes an active part in the national and international scientific and practical conferences;
• exercises a scientific supervision of postgraduate and doctoral students’ research;
• 2010 – a co-author of the collective monograph Modern Professional Training of a Teacher to Teach Art Disciplines at a Comprehensive School: Problems, Searches and Findings;
• 2012 – published an individual monograph Rendering Independence of Instrumentalist Musicians: Content, Structure and Methods of Development;
• 2014 – a co-author of the collective monograph Development of an Artistic and Aesthetic World View of Teachers of Art Disciplines Based on the Integrative Approach;
• has been teaching such subjects as Sol-fa, the Theory of Art, the History of World Artistic Culture, the Main Musical Instrument (Piano) and Factors of Successful Employment as per Speciality.
