1991 – Zaporizhia Machine-Building Institute named after V. Ya. Chubar, specialty – “Power supply of industrial enterprises, cities and agriculture”;

1999 – Berdyansk State Pedagogical Institute named after P. D. Osypenko, specialty – “Psychology”.

2003 – candidate’s thesis, specialty 13.00.02 – theory and methods of teaching (physics). Thesis topic: “Methodology of teaching general physics at faculties of non-physical specialties in higher educational pedagogical institutions”. 2006 – academic title of associate professor of the Department of Physics and Methods of Teaching Physics.
2010 – doctoral thesis, specialty 13.00.02 – theory and methods of teaching (physics). Thesis topic: “Theoretical and methodological principles of the formation of physical and technical knowledge in the process of professional training of future physics teachers”.
2011 – academic title of professor of the Department of Physics and Methods of Teaching Physics.
2015 – Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine.
2019 – Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

During 1991–2001, Bogdanov I. T. held various positions as head of structural divisions of the institute: head of the youth computer center, head of the economic center, head of the center for retraining and advanced training, head of the department of technical disciplines.
1992-1995 - assistant professor of the department of physics and methods of teaching physics.
1995-2004 - senior lecturer of the department of physics and methods of teaching physics.
2004-2010 - associate professor of the department of physics and methods of teaching physics.
2010 and to the present - professor of the department of physics and methods of teaching physics.
2010-2015 - vice-rector for scientific work of the BDPU
2015-2016 – First Vice-Rector of BDPU.
From June 2016 to the present – ​​Rector of BDPU.
