Open Science Policy of Berdyansk State Pedagogical University

This policy is a pilot document with a duration of one year. During this period, the university will conduct regular monitoring of implementation progress, collect feedback from stakeholders, and assess the overall impact of the actions taken. Based on the results, a long-term strategy for open science will be developed, addressing identified challenges and opportunities.

The policy consists of three interrelated components:

Open Science Development Strategy

Defines the university’s mission, vision, strategic goals, and core principles for implementing open science

Roadmap for Policy Implementation

Outlines concrete steps, tasks, key performance indicators (KPIs), resources, and monitoring mechanisms

Action Plan

Details short-term activities required to achieve the defined goals

In addition, the policy is aligned with international standards and initiatives, including:

💠 the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable),
💠 the CARE principles (Collective Benefit, Authority to Control, Responsibility, Ethics),
💠 the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA),
💠 the Hong Kong Principles for Assessing Researchers, and
💠 the framework proposed by the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA).

BSPU supports responsible research practices, open research data, inclusive participation, and citizen science initiatives. The university positions itself as a regional hub for open science, aiming to strengthen transparency, reproducibility, and global collaboration.
